‘Revenge Body’ trainer Latreal Mitchell’s No. 1 tip: ‘Don’t eat crap’

Latreal Mitchell isn’t just on Khloé Kardashian‘s “Revenge Body” to help clients lose weight, she’s implementing lifestyle changes that will last long after the cameras are gone.

“My approach is really having people have a healthier relationship to food,” she told Page Six in a recent interview. “If you have an unhealthy relationship with food, I don’t care what diet you go on, you’re not going to succeed, because you’re always going to crave the things you shouldn’t be putting in your body.”

Mitchell, who goes by “La,” is back for the third season of the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” spin-off and has a nutrition background that makes her unique among the weight loss show’s trainers.

“We’re in the information age, so people are like, ‘Should I do Keto? Should I do Paleo?’ and you’re bombarded with all this information and you’re overwhelmed trying to figure out,” she explained. “If you understand the basic theme in all of those programs is get rid of the sugar, stop eating s–t. Don’t eat crap. Those are the things that you’re not supposed to be doing anyway.”

This season, the trainer, who prepped Michael Strahan for “Magic Mike XXL,” and also works with Terry Crews and Jerry Ferrara, trains Allison, a returning participant who decided to opt out of the program midway through last season. This time, her mom is joining in.

“I think the transformation with her and her mom and that journey is gonna be super exciting,” Mitchell said. “The mom-and-daughter duo is pretty awesome … just all of that is pretty cool.”

Of her other client, a widow grieving the loss of her husband, the celebrity trainer told us “her story is incredible,” adding, “I think people are really gonna continue to catch on and realize the show is a lot more, it’s a lot of growth.”

But Mitchell says that when it comes to motivation to get fit and make healthy changes in life, it’s all about a person’s dedication.

“I think the struggle is real across the board, I don’t care if you’re an average person or a celebrity, I think it’s the mindset of the individual,” she said. “There are celebrities like Kevin Hart and Michael Strahan and Terry Crews that make fitness a part of their life. And there are certain people who don’t care and eat what they want and until the doctor says, ‘Oh we have a problem, you need to fix this.’ So I think, no matter what level you are in your life, whether you’re a celebrity and you can afford to pay someone to do it, or you’re just the average Joe who thinks your health is that important, you’re gonna make the commitment to get it done.”

As for what she hopes to accomplish by appearing on the show, Mitchell says it’s all about reach.

“My goal is to reach millions of people, and however I can do that and really get people to understand how important their health is and the direction they need to go in, I’m all about that,” she said. “I’m very excited to be a part of the Kardashian name and I think Khloé is an amazing human being and she is truly passionate about this show.”
