Norah O’Donnell to interview Jeff Bezos, Caroline Kennedy for ‘CBS Evening News’ debut

Norah O’Donnell’s debut episode as the anchor of “CBS Evening News” will feature a joint interview with Jeff Bezos and Caroline Kennedy, the network announced Monday.

The sit-down will air on July 15 as part of CBS News’ special coverage marking the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. Through his space company Blue Origin, billionaire Bezos plans to send humans to the moon by 2024, he said in May.

O’Donnell’s chat with Bezos and Kennedy will center on “the future of space exploration and [Caroline’s father] President John F. Kennedy’s role in expanding the American space program,” CBS said.

In May, The Post revealed that O’Donnell, 45, was given the anchor job and would leave “CBS This Morning.” Gayle King, a star at the network whose interview with R. Kelly made waves earlier this year, now co-hosts the morning program alongside Tony Dokoupil and Anthony Mason.

O’Donnell is replacing Jeff Glor in the “CBS Evening News” chair after he held the spot for just a year and a half.
