Dave Chappelle wants people at the club to put their phones away

Dave Chappelle was at Marquee following his performance on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Thursday.

The show, which has a limited two-week run, has a strict no-phones policy — a philosophy the comic seemed to take offstage.

“Dave got up at the club and jokingly told everyone to put their phones down, and ‘people that make memories and party together, stay together,” said a spy, who added that the comic arrived with 20 people and partied till 4 a.m. in front of the DJ booth. “He was also cracking jokes on the mike.”

The evening also celebrated DJ Shortkutz’s birthday, with guests Blake Griffin, Busta Rhymes, DJ Reach and DJ Stacks.
