Bindi Irwin gets engaged to boyfriend Chandler Powell on her birthday

Bindi Irwin will forever remember her 21st birthday.

On Wednesday, the daughter of the late “Crocodile Hunter,” Steve Irwin, announced her engagement to boyfriend Chandler Powell, revealing he had popped the question on her birthday, July 24.

“July 24th 2019. On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life,” Irwin gushed on Instagram. “Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forwarding (sic) to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!”

Powell, 22, also shared the exciting news, writing, “She said YES! ❤️💍 Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo. I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light. Proposing in her very favorite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives. Bee, I love you more than anything in this world and I always will. Happy Birthday.”

In a series of images posted to social media, Irwin posed with Powell in one photo and showed off her stunning ring in another.

Following the announcement, the well-wishes began to pour in, including a sweet message from Millie Bobby Brown.

“Aww congratulations and happy birthday bindi,” the “Stranger Things” actress posted.

Irwin’s brother Robert also congratulated the couple, posting, “I am beyond happy for you two. You are true soulmates and have always been so completely perfect for each other. Love you both and congratulations.”

Prior to getting engaged, Irwin revealed that she believed Powell was “the one.”

“I think I have found my one, and I’m so lucky. He is always encouraging me to follow my dreams, reminding me to stand up for what I believe in,” Irwin told People last year.
