Diddy once helped move employee’s dad to better hospital

MIAMI — Sean “Diddy” Combs truly cares about his employees.

The President of Combs Enterprises, Dia Simms, revealed her father was once hospitalized in a facility with “horrible” conditions and that Diddy swooped in to help without being asked.

“[My dad] one day literally just collapsed,” Simms said at the Color Comm conference in Miami on Friday. “We’re still unsure what it was, we thought it may have been Lyme disease at the time. We rush him to the hospital in Brooklyn and wherever he ended up it was a horrible hospital.”

She explained that she didn’t even tell Diddy that her father was in the hospital but that he found out from someone else — who has still not been revealed to this day.

That is when Diddy, 49, jumped into action.

“He goes out of his way to call the hospital [to] get my father moved to the best hospital,” she said. “He called the hospital and said, ‘This is my Godfather and he gets a private room. Wonderful treatment.'”

Simms went on to say that this was an example of how professional relationships can create a strong bond between people.

“For me, work has to be a little bit more than just your work relationship,” she said. “That kind of ally-ship … I’m good forever. I’m gonna support you for the next 20, 30, 40, 50 years because that’s so much more than what we should be doing as human beings everyday day, but that’s the kind of advocacy that lasts forever.”

According to the Combs Enterprises website, Simms has worked with Diddy since 2005.
