Justin Hartley often sports designer duds on the red carpet, like the bright blue Isaia tuxedo he wore on the 2019 Emmys red carpet last Sunday.
But the 42-year-old “This Is Us” star may have a soft spot for his sweatpants and T-shirts, telling Page Six Style that “comfort is important” when it comes to his closet.
“The key is to be comfortable in your own skin before you put any clothes on,” he said. “And then after that you sort of build on that foundation.”
“I think sometimes keep it simple is the best way to do it,” Hartley continued. “Don’t be afraid to take chances; if you’re taking chances that make sense, it’s not really a chance at all. And it all starts with being comfortable in your own skin.”
Sometimes he’s gotten too comfortable, he added — but luckily, his wife Chrishell and 15-year-old daughter Isabella are always there to check his bad style choices.
“That happens occasionally,” he laughed. “But it’s hard to talk me out something. I’ve made some drastic mistakes in the past. I’m not going to lie. But, it’ll happen again too. So it’s all right.”
