Nicki Minaj fooled us all.
The “Megatron” rapper claimed she has been collaborating with Adele, telling ET, “Adele made me swear to secrecy that I’m not allowed to tell anyone that I’m working with her and that we already shot a video, and it’s an epic song.”
But after news broke of the upcoming project, the 36-year-old rapper said she was just joking around.
“Omg guys.😅 I thought everyone could clearly see I was being sarcastic,” Minaj tweeted with screenshots of multiple reports that she would be working with the “Hello” singer. “Sh-t! Now I have to go to Adele’s studio & steal some files. Who’s in the UK? I got a job for you .”
An Adele and Nicki Minaj collab aren’t totally out of the question.
The singer/songwriter is clearly a fan and famously rapped all of Minaj’s “Monster” lyrics perfectly in a viral episode of “Carpool Karaoke” in 2016.
Adele’s rep had no comment.
