Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds headed for divorce amid alleged affair with nanny

After attempting to reconcile following a very public cheating scandal, Meghan King Edmonds, 35, and Jim Edmonds, 49, are calling it quits.

Jim Edmonds, a former MLB star, officially filed paperwork to end the marriage Friday, Us Weekly reports. The filing came one day after their fifth wedding anniversary following a blow-up fight with Meghan.

“Meghan and Jim have been fighting,” a source told the publication. “The latest fight began when he went to a recent hockey game and she began interrogating him about who he went with.”

She reportedly also accused the former St. Louis Cardinals player of “having an affair” with their nanny.

Meghan’s distrust likely stems from Jim admittedly sending lewd text messages and photos to a woman while the reality star was pregnant.

Just days before the filing, the Bravo star opened up to The Daily Dish about rebuilding trust within her marriage.

“I think after such a breach of trust, it’s so hard to rebuild from there, especially [with] so many distractions, like our son’s health problems and two other little babies as well,” Meghan said. “So, to focus on the two of us as a couple, is really hard.”

Meghan and Jim share three children, Aspen, 2, and 1-year-old twins Hart and Hayes. In July, Meghan revealed Hart was diagnosed with “irreversible brain damage.”

Despite their family woes, Meghan was hoping to save her marriage because she ultimately believes “people can change.”

“I’m in no way taking responsibility from him or accountability — and if we were just dating, he would be long gone,” she said. “But we built a life together and there are so many lives that would be affected. I’m hurt right now and our life is massively affected, but if we were to split just because of his indiscretion then there’s multiple other people who are affected, as well. So I owe it to not only myself and the commitment I made to my marriage to work on it, but I owe it to my children.”
