Heidi Klum reveals gory alien Halloween costume that took 10 hours to create
The queen of Halloween is at it again.
Heidi Klum revealed yet another wild, prosthetic-heavy Halloween costume on Thursday night for her 20th annual Halloween party. This year, the newlywed supermodel, 46, covered her entire body with detailed silicone in order to transform into a nearly nude, bloody alien, complete with guts, brains and wires all on display.
Her husband, Tokio Hotel rocker Tom Kaulitz, accompanied his grotesque partner in a bloodied astronaut costume.
The two playfully posed on the red carpet, with Kaulitz grabbing Klum’s prosthetically enhanced behind and Heidi hissing at the cameras. The entire process of her ornate costume took more than 10 hours to create, and fans were able to watch the process live in a window display inside an Amazon Books store in New York. She also posted many videos and sneak-peek shots for her fans on Instagram throughout the day, slowly revealing the finished product.
Klum told People that her husband’s band actually served as the inspiration to the costume. “They believe in aliens,” Klum said, before Kaulitz chimed in: “Everyone does, no?”
The couple came up with an elaborate apocalyptic backstory for the looks: “I was in space looking for a new planet for humans to live on, right? Cause we already discarded ours,” Kaulitz said. “I was out there, touring the universe and so, I found her, I found this creature, and I was like, ‘Wow, she looks good. I brought her home. So, hopefully, she has some useful information planned.”
She finally unveiled the look Halloween night at her star-studded party, where guests included Mariah Carey, Jonathan Van Ness, Maluma, and Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin.
Last year, Klum and Kaulitz dressed up as Shrek and Fiona in oversize green heads and ogre feet. In the past, Heidi has gone as an old woman, a gorilla, a butterfly and the werewolf from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video.
It’s only Nov. 1, but Heidi’s probably already thinking up next year’s costume.
