Catherine Deneuve hospitalized following ‘limited’ stroke

French actress Catherine Deneuve has been hospitalized following “a very limited and therefore reversible ischemic stroke,” according to a statement from her family.

The 76-year-old legend reportedly fell ill shortly after wrapping a scene on set of upcoming French feature “De Son Vivant,” and was later admitted to an unspecified Paris hospital, Deadline reports.

Deneuve’s agent, Claire Blondel, shared that the European star suffered a “no motor function deficit, and must of course take some time off.”

Often compared to fellow French beauty Brigitte Bardot, the Oscar-nominated actress has been a staple of French cinema since the 1960s, starring in classics such as “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” (1964), “Repulsion” (1965) and “Les Demoiselles de Rochefort” (1967).

Deneuve remains one of her country’s most sought-after stars, releasing two films already this year with another,  Hirokazu Kore-Eda’s “The Truth,” scheduled to open Christmas Day.
