“Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary and his wife are being sued by the family of one of the victims who died in a boat crash in Canada last summer, a report said.
Susanne Brito’s parents are suing O’Leary and his wife Linda — who was driving their boat at the time of the crash — seeking damages for her death, the Toronto Sun reported.
“For this grieving family, it is about obtaining civil justice so as to prevent theses types of deaths and curtailing reckless and dangerous behaviors from continuing on our lakes,” the lawyer representing the family told the newspaper.
Kevin and Linda O’Leary were riding on Lake Joseph in Ontario when they crashed into another vessel, killing 48-year-old Brito and 64-year-old Gary Poltash.
“Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident,” O’Leary told TMZ after the crash.
“I am fully cooperating with authorities,” he added.
