Inside Donald Trump Jr.’s wild appearance on ‘The View’

Donald Trump Jr.’s visit to “The View” Thursday was as wild off-camera as on camera — as security had to be called on an entourage of wealthy donors the first son brought for moral support when they refused to sit with each other.

Things got even more out of hand once the taping began, when co-host Whoopi Goldberg lectured the crowd during a commercial break to stop booing Trump’s comments, sources said.

The billionaire scion had visited the ABC program to promote his new book, and filled some of the seats in the studio with seven millionaire MAGA backers so he would have some people in the crowd on his side during the contentious appearance, sources said.

But the plan got off to a rocky start when some of the Trump guests, who had been let onto the set early, refused to sit near each other and security had to be called to get them to stay in their designated seats.

A show source said: “When we were loading in the rest of the audience, they wouldn’t stay in their seats and security had to assist so we could load in the rest of the audience.

“At that point, the people who didn’t want to sit together had already been divided and given seats on the other side of the audience.”

Once the rest of the audience arrived, trouble continued as some booed Trump’s comments about European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland’s testimony to the ongoing House impeachment inquiry.

As the jeers rained down, Goldberg said on air “Children, children, children, children, children, stop yourselves.”

But she gave the crowd a talking to during a commercial break, sources said.

“Whoopi took the mike and spoke directly to the audience, she told them ‘we can’t have you booing’, it messes us up and stops the flow,” one source said.

“And when Whoopi talks, you listen.”

If this wasn’t chaotic enough, security was called once again as some of Trump’s guests were spotted on their phone while the show was taping.

The guests included Greg and Donna Mosing from Louisiana who donated $25,000 towards President Trump’s inauguration in 2017.

Businessman Leandro Rizzuto Jr., who was nominated by President Trump in January 2018 to become the next United States Ambassador to Barbados, was also invited. He is the son of Leandro Rizzuto, the billionaire founder of Conair Corporation.

They were joined by Michael Berkoff – CEO of BevMax Liquors, and Mrinalani Kumari.

Bill White, CEO of the Constellations Group, was joined by his husband Bryan Eure, alongside businessman Russ Coniglio, and Charles and Debbie Norberg.

Danielle Yancey, friends of both Trump Jr. and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle, who joined him on-air, was also there, as well as Susan Shin – Trump’s New York publicist pal.

Kate Hartson – editorial director at Center Street, a subsidiary of Hachette, who has made contributions to Rand Paul was also invited.

Trump was there to hawk his book “Triggered: How The Left Thrives On Hate And Wants To Silence Us.”

And as she announced him, Joy Behar made mention of Trump’s guests saying: “All his fans are in the front,” as Trump Jr. replied: “ We got 10 seats out of 150 so we figured we had to stack the deck a little bit.”

Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
