Jason Kennedy gets a new job after ‘E! News’ departure

Jason Kennedy isn’t leaving E! entirely.

After Page Six exclusively reported in August that Kennedy and Giuliana Rancic wouldn’t be joining the new “E! News” morning show in New York City, the NBC-owned network has now announced that Kennedy would be hosting a new show on E! titled “In the Room.”

The show is based in Los Angeles, confirming 37-year-old Kennedy would not be moving to New York for the morning show.

“In the Room” — which, according to the network, “will take viewers inside celebrity homes for in-depth interviews and conversation” — will air several primetime specials before its full launch in early 2020. The first special airs on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 8pm ET/PT and features Kennedy in a sit-down interview with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The interview will feature Brady discussing his family, including wife Gisele Bündchen, his on-field success and why he’d rather not be referred to as the G.O.A.T.

E! announced in early August it was ending its longtime LA-based nightly show in favor of a morning show located in the Big Apple. It had announced “In the Room” at the time but hadn’t named a host.

Rancic later told Page Six that she’ll always be with E! as she’ll still be working the red carpet for major award shows.
