Meghan Markle was “With Her.”
The Duchess of Sussex secretly invited Hillary Clinton to visit Prince Harry, baby Archie and herself at their Windsor home on Tuesday, the Daily Mail reports. It was apparently the ladies’ first time meeting.
Clinton reportedly arrived at the royal family’s Frogmore Cottage home and greeted the former “Suits” star with a hug. She even snuggled up with the baby during the visit, according to the Daily Mail.
“Both women have a lot of admiration for each other and it was a very sweet, warm meeting,” a source told the publication. “They are mutual fan girls!”
Markle has admired Clinton from a young age and even wrote to her when she was just 11 years old to demand her help with getting a “sexist” ad for dishwasher soap taken off TV. At the time, Clinton was the first lady.
The two apparently discussed that letter during their get-together.
And the admiration is mutual.
After Markle opened up about the struggles of being a new mom in the public eye, Clinton expressed her sympathy and respect for the royal.
“Oh my God, I want to hug her. I feel as a mother I just want to put my arms around her,” Clinton recently told the BBC.
And that she did.
She continued, “I want to tell her to hang in there, don’t let those bad guys get you down. Keep going, do what you think is right.”
Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child in May.
