Shep Rose from ‘Southern Charm’ talks Bahamas charity work

Shep Rose is taking his “Southern Charm” to where it can do the most good.

The star of the reality show spoke to Page Six at BravoCon about his efforts to help people in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian in August, which devastated the region.

Rose explained his co-star Craig Conover introduced him to “wonderful” people in The Abaco Islands.

“The Abacos don’t exist anymore. I mean, they do, but … it’s awful,” Rose told Page Six. “Craig raised thousands of dollars, I raised thousands of dollars, and my dad’s friend owns a lumber company, so I got a container of wood that we’re gonna send over. These are things that they need to build their town again.”

He continued, “If it’s something that hits close to home, I wish I could help everyone … So I wish I could help everything, but there’s only so much I can do.”

Rose previously told People that his efforts raised about $25,000 in relief for the Bahamas. Conover’s efforts yielded another $20,000.

Rose also said he plans to spend the holidays in the Bahamas fishing with his father.
