Mohamed Hadid files for bankruptcy after being ordered to demolish ‘starship enterprise’

Mohamed Hadid, father of supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, has filed for bankruptcy just days after being ordered to tear down his Bel Air mega-mansion.

Hadid’s company, 901 Strada LLC, officially filed for reorganization in federal bankruptcy court Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. Hadid, 71, claims the company is currently $10-50 million in debt due to the construction of his half-built, 30,000-square-foot mansion that has been dubbed the “Starship Enterprise,” according to documents obtained by TMZ.

Itemized debts listed in the filing include $386,000 owed to a design and management company, $200,000 owed to a building materials company, over $93,000 owed to a demolition company and over $35,000 owed to plumbers.

The business tycoon was sued by his neighbors in 2018 over the property, which they claimed was illegally built and unstable.

“If this house came down the hill it would take a portion of the neighborhood with it,” said Judge Craig Karlan after ordering Hadid to demolish the hulking home.

The Daily Mail previously reported that Hadid began dismantling the massive home, per a court order, but no longer has the funds to finish the demolition.

Page Six has reached out to Hadid for comment.
