Harry and Linda Macklowe’s $700 million art collection headed to auction soon

Former couple Harry and Linda Macklowe’s nearly $1 billion art collection is heading to auction soon.

Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Phillips were invited to submit proposals to sell the collection, reports Bloomberg. The couple, who were married for 59 years, own works by Picasso and Rothko, Andy Warhol’s “Nine Marilyns” (estimated to go for $50 million) and Alberto Giacometti’s “Le Nez” ($35 million to $65 million).

In October, a judge ordered the Macklowes — who went through an acrimonious divorce during which Harry commissioned a 40-foot billboard of him and new wife Patricia Landeau on a Park Avenue building — to sell their art and split the profits.
