Singer Meat Loaf suing Dallas hotel where he fell off stage

The singer Meat Loaf is taking action against the Dallas hotel where he fell off stage and broke his collarbone during an event.

The “I’d Do Anything for Love” crooner, 72, filed a lawsuit against the Hyatt hotel chain and Texas Frightmare Weekend and is seeking monetary damages, the Dallas Morning News reported. In the court filing submitted Monday to the Tarrant County district court, Meat Loaf, whose real name is Michael Aday, claims the defendants profited from his fame but didn’t provide a safe work environment.

“It is our policy to not comment on ongoing litigation,” a Hyatt spokesperson told Page Six on Wednesday.

On May 4, 2019, the “Bat Out of Hell” singer took part in a question-and-answer session during the horror festival, but as he made his way across the stage he allegedly lost his balance on loose wires and fell sideways off the stage. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was kept overnight and treated for a broken collarbone.

A rep for the singer didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

A rep for Texas Frightmare Weekend couldn’t be reached.

Following the incident, however, Meat Loaf told The Post’s Cindy Adams that his recovery was intense.

“I lost 70 pounds. I lived on Starbucks and cream cheese. For 12 days, the pain so bad they gave me drugs — but not the kind I once took before,” he said.

“I’ve turned down six tours. It’s been a year and a half of misery. My last operation took seven hours. Listen, I’ve lived it all. I and my band on a double-decker bus, and playing live in the rain. Done it all.”
