Machine Gun Kelly mourns death of his father in emotional post

Machine Gun Kelly is mourning the death of his father.

The 30-year-old rapper announced the sad news via Instagram on Sunday night, explaining that he had been planning to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his “Hotel Diablo” album when he received the news.

“That album was everything i wanted to say and i know it’s close to my fans…but my father took his last breath this morning, and i’ve never felt a pain this deep in my life.”

“i’m setting my phone down,” he continued. “love you. thank you guys for everything.”

MGK, born Richard Colson Baker, had recently reconciled with his father. His dad had a non-COVID 19-related illness, according to the New York Times.

“It sucks because I really just want to just scream and cry and sit in my room and just wait for someone to come tell me it’s going to be all good,” he recently told the New York Times.

“He’s so stoked that I’m playing guitar now. He called me the other day and told me that he’s really starting to enjoy my music,” he continued. “And he’s super proud of me.”

The “Birdbox” actor has recently been in the news for his rumored relationship with Megan Fox following her split from husband Brian Austin Green. The “Transformers” actress, 34, has been spotted with Kelly several times around Los Angeles and co-starred in his “Bloody Valentine” music video.
