Kanye West’s announcement that he’s going to run for president this year comes while he’s “struggling” with his bipolar disorder, according to People.
The rapper — who has talked openly about his battle with the disorder in the past — “has been doing well for a long time,” the mag reports.
“In the past, he has suffered both manic and depressive episodes related to his bipolar disorder. Right now, he is struggling again,” says their source.
“Kim is concerned, as well as her whole family. It’s super stressful for Kim, because Kanye’s behavior is very unpredictable. She is worried,” the source adds. “The episodes usually last for a few weeks and then things go back to normal. Kim hopes it will be the same this time.”
West announced his supposed White House bid on July 4th, and has since given a bizarre, rambling interview to Forbes about his proposals, including forming a political party called The Birthday Party.
