Meghan Markle’s ‘AGT’ leather leggings exemplify her post-Megxit style

Meghan Markle is dressing a bit differently post-Megxit.

The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance on “America’s Got Talent” Wednesday to wish contestant Archie Williams good luck in the competition — but it may have been her outfit that caused the biggest stir.

Markle, 37, wore a tan Victoria Beckham silk shirt ($1,070) with a pair of black leather leggings similar to a Hatch maternity style ($158) she wore while pregnant with baby Archie in 2018.

While the former “Suits” star lived in pants (and even ripped jeans) pre-royal wedding, she was reportedly discouraged from wearing them after becoming a member of the monarchy.

At the time, a source told People that the Duchess was “frustrated” by certain royal fashion rules, “like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits, and [was] often asking Harry why things [had] to be done in a certain way.”

Now that she and 36-year-old Prince Harry are no longer senior royals — and working from home on the West Coast, no less — it seems Markle has loosened up her look to suit the times, wearing everything from khaki shorts to Wednesday’s leather pants.

“We’ve been so moved by your story and we have been cheering you on every week — and it’s not just because we’re partial to the name,” Markle told “AGT” contestant Williams, who was incarcerated for 37 years for a crime he did not commit.

He performed “Blackbird” by the Beatles on Tuesday night before spoken-word poet Brandon Leake was ultimately named the Season 15 winner.
