Britney Spears dresses down for Instagram: ‘I can get insecure’

Britney Spears wants to show fans what she “really looks like” on a daily basis.

The pop star posted a photo of herself on Monday wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, sandals and glasses, and claimed that the much more dressed-down version of herself is her true “reality.”

Spears, 38, typically wears a peasant top and shorts, workout clothes or tight dresses on her Instagram.

“I can get insecure when photos are taken of me that I’m not prepared for ….. so I have always put so much effort into my appearance … but you know sometimes it’s nice to not try so hard and pull down your walls every now and then !!!! It takes a lot of strength to do that !!!” she wrote.

The “Toxic” singer then went on a tangent about she played basketball growing up instead of cheerleading, and revealed that the pictures in the slideshow were taken as she was trying to do some handiwork in her home.

“I was trying to fix a light 💡 but realized I was too short,” she said.

Her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, quipped in the comments, “Oh come on! The @lakers and @kingjames need you! Talented at every level.”

However, most other comments appeared to show concern for the “Oops! … I Did It Again” singer.

A comment that read, “Am I the only one who thinks this is NOT Britney!?!?,” received more than 8,000 likes.

Fans continue to support the #FreeBritney movement, convinced that the pop star is being controlled against her will by her management team and members of her family.

Spears’ conservatorship, which has been in place since 2008, is set to be reevaluated in 2021.

Last year, Spears called out trolls who left “mean” comments on her social media.

“If you don’t like a post … just keep it to yourself and unfollow that person !!!” she wrote. “There’s no reason to ever go out of your way to make mean comments and bully people.”
