Wendy Williams can’t pronounce the word ‘coronavirus’

Seven months into the coronavirus pandemic in New York, Wendy Williams still hasn’t figured out how to pronounce it.

While discussing President Trump’s tweet telling people “don’t be afraid” of COVID-19, the talk show host said what sounded like “cranova” instead of “corona” on the air. Though it could have been a slip of the tongue the first time around, Williams doubled down and said “cranova” again in the segment on Tuesday’s episode of “The Wendy Williams Show.”

“We are frightened of cranova,” said Williams, whose health has been worrisome over the years as she struggles with Graves’ disease. She also suffers from lymphedema and requires a machine to help treat it.

In a past pronunciation flap, Williams, 56, once referred to pop star Dua Lipa as “Dula Peep.”
