John Lithgow flogs self-illustrated book of Trump poetry at 92nd Street Y

John Lithgow is out with a book of poems called “Trumpty Dumpty Wanted a Crown,” which he illustrated himself.

Though he’s known as a thespian, Lithgow told Alan Alda during a 92nd Street Y talk that when he was a young man, “if anybody asked me ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ I would say an artist.”

The actor revealed that his knack for verse came from his father, who would write and recite original Christmas poems to the family every year that included everyone’s name.

Lithgow said he’s done the same at cast parties using all the actors’ names.
