Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke talks struggle with virginity at 27

Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke is speaking candidly about waiting to have sex until marriage.

“It can definitely get hard and rough and you just got to stay strong and remember why I did it,” the 27-year-old recently told TMZ, adding, “And the end goal, you know, it’s a marathon and I’m trying to see myself at the finish line because for me personally, I think that’ll just reap such rewards in time.”

Brooke said that she was very “proud” of her virginity.

“I’m happy I can share it with my fans and be honest but it’s also awesome because I can still be flirtatious and be sexy and fun in my music videos and in my songs,” she said. “There’s just a certain line that I’m comfortable with, you know, certain songs that I will sing, certain lyrics that I will change, but it’s awesome just being empowered to be who I want to be.”

The “Work From Home” singer added that other celebs who waited to lose their virginity, like Jordin Sparks and Jessica Simpson, help her stay inspired.

“That was awesome to know that, hey, I’m not alone in this choice and I’m being empowered by other women,” she said.

She also offered up advice to anyone who is trying to stick to their commitment to wait until marriage.

“If you guys are trying to honor that choice, stick to it,” she said. “Remember why you did it and know that you’re not alone, ’cause there are some people that feel like, ‘gosh, I’m the only one who’s in this boat,’ but you have a lot of people who are with you and have the same struggles and challenges that you do and you know I’m here to root you on and say, ‘hey, stay strong.’ I know it’s tough but you really can do it.”

Brooke discusses wanting to wait to have sex until marriage in her new memoir “Finding Harmony,” according to TMZ.

Booke was romantically linked to her manager Will Bracey in September 2019, according to Us Weekly. She also reportedly dated Troy Ogletree from 2013 to 2015.
