Nile Rodgers selling guitars played by B.B. King, Chuck Berry

Nile Rodgers is parting ways with some of the most prized possessions he’s collected through the years — including guitars and hot rods.

“When I got sober, a little over 26 years ago, I quit the music business … I spiritually decided I wasn’t going to be in the business, but I wanted to be connected to the business, so I started collecting all this stuff,” the Chic legend told Page Six from his studio in Connecticut.

“When I started to collect [guitars], I wasn’t collecting them to play them — it was to have it because B.B. King played it, or Chuck Berry played it.”

Earlier this week, Rodgers bid adieu to his one-of-a-kind 1997 yellow Range Rover. “It’s a really super-duper car. It’s one of 200 in the world. That car has amazing memories, from [driving with] Diana Ross — playing final mixes,” he said.

Rodgers says he’s just now beginning to sort through his collectibles and figure out how to disperse them. “I’m not going to go crazy and sell off every single thing … It’s not the right thing to do spiritually to have all that valuable important stuff … It could be in a museum or wherever. It’s a lot of stuff,” he said. And while he hasn’t figured out an actual plan of action, he said he plans to donate proceeds to his We Are Family Foundation.
