Lily James cancels press interviews after Dominic West drama

Lily James abruptly pulled out of a promotional junket for her new Netflix drama after photos were published last week of her canoodling with married “The Pursuit of Love” co-star Dominic West, Page Six is told.

The actress failed to face reporters last Tuesday during an event for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association where she was set to promote her starring role in “Rebecca” alongside Armie Hammer, a source said.

James has seemingly been hiding from the media ever since, as the Brit actress scrapped a planned appearance on the “Today” show on Monday, and also canceled on other programs, such as the “Graham Norton Show.”

A source said that James had initially appeared at the two-day Hollywood Foreign Press event last Tuesday, just a day after photos of her romping with West in Italy had been published online.

However, just 45 minutes before she was due to be interviewed, journalists were told that she would not be joining them.

“It was a two-day junket. On the first day, Lily was joined by the producers who it seemed were there to protect her from anyone asking questions about the photos,” the source said.

“The next day, when members of the HFPA and others were due to talk to her, she pulled out at the 11th hour. There was no explanation.”

James is slated to appear on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, although it’s not yet known whether she will appear.

Meanwhile, West and his wife Catherine FitzGerald have declared their marriage is “strong.”

Over the summer, James was photographed on dates with “Avengers” star Chris Evans. The actress previously dated former “Doctor Who” star Matt Smith.

Reps for Netflix and James did not respond to calls for comment. Reps for West didn’t get back to us.
