Anne Hathaway celebrates ‘The Witches’ premiere in couture, sans red carpet

Anne Hathaway doesn’t need a red carpet to make the best-dressed list.

The actress, 37, marked the premiere of her new movie “The Witches” on Thursday by social distancing in style, posing on the roof of Harrods in London wearing a breathtaking red ruffled gown from Ralph & Russo Couture.

“No premiere, no problem,” Hathaway captioned the glamorous shot. “I hope you all enjoy Robert Zemeckis’s reimagining of #TheWitchesMovie, streaming on @HBOMax today!”

Fans couldn’t get enough of the Oscar winner’s over-the-top ‘gram. “This may seem overdramatic. But we really needed this. Thank you 🥺 And thanks to @gregwilliamsphotography for capturing this beautiful moment,” one person commented, while another wrote, “Alexa, play ‘Witchcraft’ by Frank Sinatra…. I mean! unbelievable!”

“So casual,” joked Hathaway’s stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many red carpets have gone virtual. At August’s VMAs, celebrities posed for a green screen step-and-repeat days before the actual show in lieu of a live red carpet; September’s Emmys lacked a carpet completely, with presenters and nominees simply dressing up in the comfort of their own homes.
