More than two decades after Sammie burst onto the music scene at the age of 12 with his hit single “I Like It,” his career is still on fire.
“I launched a candle line in February, and we’re having a grand opening on November 1 in Georgia,” the R&B singer, 33, told Page Six Style. “It’s called Simply Naked Candle Co., and we have five scents: Indigo, Pure Love, Peace, Honey and All Night. I never just wanted to be a singer, songwriter, performer; I’ve always wanted to tackle entrepreneurship in all realms. I look up to the Diddys and Jay-Zs of the world.”
And while Sammie’s still making music (his fifth studio album, “Such is Life,” is out now) and writing a book titled “Good to Know” (to “let women know the mindset of a man,” according to the singer), his interest in beauty shouldn’t come as a surprise to his fans; his full, luscious beard practically has its own fan club.
“I’ve done some campaigns with Mielle, so I keep my beard and hair moisturized with [their] organic products,” the star said of his grooming regimen. “Soap and water does not do any harm to me, so I just add on coconut oil and prayer. Just staying at peace … I really don’t be tripping about nothing, so I think that’s what helps my skin and hair grow the way it does, no filter.”
Added Sammie, “I use rosemary mint oil by Mielle for my beard. I just pick it out every morning, use some olive oil in there and I go out flourishing in the world.”
