Jeff Bridges’ cancer diagnosis has given the actor perspective.
The “The Big Lebowski” star, who revealed last week that he is battling lymphoma, shared on his website on Thursday that “new s—t has come to light” because of his health issues.
“This cancer thing is bringing on feelings of preciousness, and gratitude, and good old fashion love, and lots of it, big time,” the 70-year-old wrote. “I’m feeling so much of it comin’ my way, and man, I appreciate it. It’s contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus.”
Bridges then thanked all of his fans and friends for their support.
“It feels good to get all the well wishes and love!” he said.
The “Big Lebowski” star concluded by stating that cancer is making him appreciate his “mortality,” adding, “I’m realizing if I have s—t to share, now’s the time.”
According to the National Cancer Institute, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma made up just over 4 percent of all new cancer cases in 2020. The disease has a five-year relative survival rate of nearly 73 percent.
