Gayle King fits into yellow election night dress after soup fast

She did it.

Gayle King shimmied into a yellow sheath dress for CBS’ election night coverage after “praying” earlier in the day that it would fit.

King, who often chronicles her weight losses and gains on social media, wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, “Just completed 5 day soup fast & the results are in! Trying to get into mustard yellow dress for Elex night coverage TONITE ..praying to sweet black baby Jesus it now fits, that you VOTE, & that there is PEACE.”

King dropped from 172.2 pounds to 165 pounds on the fast.

Several fans gave King props after seeing her on TV in the yellow dress, with one user writing, “Looks like you got into the yellow dress and you look FABULOUS!!” and another commenting, “You did it!!!!!”

For election night programming, the 65-year-old joined her former “CBS This Morning” co-host Norah O’Donnell — who left the show in 2019 to anchor “CBS Evening News” — as well as John Dickerson, who exited “CBS This Morning” at the same time and got another gig at the network.
