Lil Nas X is ready for internet haters to hit the road.

The 21-year old “Old Town Road” rapper took to Twitter to clap back at criticism over his Halloween costume, a pitch-perfect drag portrayal of Nicki Minaj’s look from her 2011 “Super Bass” video.

bro i don’t bother a soul in this industry. all i do is tweet and make bangers. leave me alone damn,” he tweeted on Saturday.

While many including Andy Cohen, Iggy Azalea and Doja Cat praised the colorful look, New York rapper Dave East posted photos of the costume on his Instagram Story alongside a homophobic slur.

50 Cent seemed to join in, tweeting, “what the f—k, Nikki come get him !!! Lol,” on Halloween.

Fans rushed to defend Lil Nas X, with one writing, “I don’t think @DaveEast even have the RIGHTS TO SPEAK ON @LilNasX UNTIL he get a #1 Song on the charts running 45 weeks straight.”

As the conversation continued into the week, the “Panini” hitmaker further shut down critics, writing, “it’s november 2nd and grown men are waking up to have group discussions about a costume i wore on Halloween.”

Before his own rise to stardom, Lil Nas X reportedly ran a Nicki Minaj fan account. The rapper, who came out in 2019, previously tweeted that he hid his association with her fandom because “i didn’t want people to know i was gay tbh.”

He once said that he would’ve stayed in the closet if it weren’t for his fame, and has used his platform to clap back at other homophobic comments in the past.
