Oprah names celebrity-loved Telfar bag one of her 2020 Favorite Things

Among Oprah’s Favorite Things for 2020? Telfar’s “Bushwick Birkin” shopping bag ($202), a favorite of celebrities including Bella Hadid, Selena Gomez, Solange Knowles and Dua Lipa.

The media mogul, 66, released her famous holiday gift guide on Friday, featuring mostly picks from black-owned small businesses.

“This unisex tote has quickly become the new It bag,” Oprah raved of Queens native Telfar Clemens’ cult favorite carryall.

“Made with feels-like-the-real-thing vegan leather, it’s the perfect size for work or weekend (I take the cream one with me everywhere). And who wouldn’t love the shoulder straps and top handles?”

Even before Oprah’s stamp of approval, Telfar hadn’t been able to keep the hot style in stock. After an August restock sold out in mere minutes, the brand launched its Bag Security Program to make the process of snagging one easier on shoppers.

Telfar can’t keep its sought-after Shopping Bag in stock. On August 19, the Brooklyn-based brand launched its Bag Security Program in a bid to make the so-called “Bushwick Birkin” more accessible, after a restock earlier in the month sold out in mere minutes. Created in 2014 by the black-owned, genderless label’s designer, Telfar Clemens, the logo-stamped tote comes in multiple colors and three sizes that retail from $150 to $257 — and it’s not just New York creatives and fashion fanatics who are obsessed. The It bag also has a celebrity following, with famous fans including Solange Knowles, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa and more. Ahead, see a few of the stars who can’t get enough of the coveted carryall.

The Brooklyn-based label’s bag is the only celeb-loved pick on Oprah’s list. The media mogul also included a hooded jumpsuit ($84.95) from Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty lingerie line.

“[It’s] made with the snuggliest fleece, so it’s perfect for hanging out — or, in my case, walking the dogs. You could even throw on boots and a blazer and wear it out in the world,” Oprah wrote. “Hey, RiRi would!”

Ayesha Curry Kitchenware’s Dutch oven ($69.99), Kate Hudson’s InBloom supplements ($49) and Tina Turner’s pictorial autobiography, “That’s My Life” ($57.81), also made the cut — as did gold initial rings ($60) from ByChari, the jewelry brand behind Michelle Obama’s viral “VOTE” necklace from the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
