Welcome, Minnie Pearl!
On Monday, Reese Witherspoon introduced her family’s new four-legged companion, weeks after the death of her French bulldog Pepper.
“Introducing Minnie Pearl. Welcome to the family little one,” the 44-year-old actress posted to Instagram.
Witherspoon also posted a video to her Instagram story of the French bulldog puppy playing.
In October, the “Big Little Lies” star revealed she and her family had lost Pepper, who succumbed to her months-long battle with an “aggressive cancer.”
“My goodness, she was such a loyal and devoted family member. I am so heart broken, but I am also deeply grateful for all the love and comfort she brought our family,” Witherspoon posted to social media at the time.
“We will always love you, Pepper,” she continued.
Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe, whom she shares with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, also penned a sweet tribute to Pepper.
“Just when we thought she was getting better, things took a turn for the worst, and she passed peacefully, surrounded by those who love her,” the 21-year-old wrote.
Last month, Phillippe revealed she had adopted a new dog, Benji, rescuing him from the Best Friends Animal Society in Utah.
“He loves to cuddle and meet new friends (human & canine) and has quickly adjusted to life in his new home environment,” she gushed. “Benji also enjoys squeaky toys, outdoor adventures, and anything he is allowed (or not allowed) to eat. He is the happiest, smartest boy, and I’m so grateful to be his person.”
