Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’ early exit from “The Bachelorette” wasn’t the only controversial moment of Season 16.
During a recent appearance on Maria Menounos’ “Better Together” podcast, host Chris Harrison discussed the polarizing strip dodgeball group date that Crawley’s suitors participated in.
“Is there a double standard? Would we have done that to the women? No, I’ll tell you that right now. No, cause it’s not okay. Is that a double standard? Yes. Should there be double standards in the world? Maybe,” Harrison said.
Harrison, 49, has been part of the “Bachelor” franchise since 2002.
Last month, Crawley addressed the divisive date on Twitter after being called out by a critic.
“@Clare_Crawley It’s awful you had the guys take off their clothes if The bachelor asked the women do the same things all heck would break loose. You were wrong. Juan Pablo should have had you strip,” one user tweeted last month.
Crawley, who first appeared on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of “The Bachelor” in 2014, then replied with a blast from her past.
“You mean like this?” she tweeted alongside a shirtless photo of Galavis, who had participated in a risqué photoshoot during his season.
In addition to Twitter critics, Crawley was also confronted on-air by a now-former contestant, the embattled Yosef Aborady.
“You’re not setting the right example for my daughter. I’m ashamed to be associated with you,” he said at the time. “I can’t believe I sacrificed so much to be here just for this tasteless and classless display.”
Spoiler alert: Crawley’s fiancé Moss then came to her rescue. She has since been replaced by Tayshia Adams, who made her grand “Bachelorette” debut last week.
