Willie Garson quietly checks podcast for misspelling last name

Typ-o no you didn’t!

Willie Garson may not mind if people get his sexual identity wrong — just don’t spell his name wrong. He recently told Page Six that he didn’t care if viewers who knew him as Carrie Bradshaw’s gay best friend thought he was gay in real life (he’s not). But when Corey Andrew, co-host of iHeartRadio podcast “Naughty But Nice With Rob Shuter,” spelled his name Garsen on Twitter, we’re told the actor sent Andrew a direct message saying, “Ummm, Corey, I’ve been a TV regular for like 30 years. It’s GARSON. Easily known, easier checked. Yikes.”

Andrew apologized and fixed the typo — and told Page Six: “I made a mistake, and I own it, but wow — now I know why Willie was so convincing playing a bitchy queen on ‘Sex and the City.’ Nailed it!”

Added Shuter, “Calm down, Willie. You are not Liza with a Z.”
