Meghan Markle teases Prince Harry in promo for podcast venture

Megan Markle teases Prince Harry about his upper-crust English accent in the first promo for their new multi-million dollar deal with Spotify.

Harry speaks first in the trailer for their new company Archewell Audio — posted Tuesday on the streaming site — saying “Shall we start? Ladies first,” and Markle replies: “No say it, because I think it sounds really nice with your accent.”

In a professional on-air voice, he said: “What? Archewell Audio?,” as Markle mock-swoons: “I mean, really … “

The couple introduce themselves as Harry and Meghan, and the Duchess of Sussex says: “One of the things my husband and I have always talked about is our passion for meeting people and hearing their stories, and no matter what the story, they usually offer you an understanding of where someone else is coming from and at the same time reminds you in some way of a story about yourself.”

Harry adds that the project is to “bring forward … different perspectives and voices that perhaps you have’t heard before and find our common ground, because when that happens change really is possible.”

Markle adds that “kindness and compassion,” will “underly everything you hear from Archewell Audio.”

They also plug their upcoming holiday special by singing Christmas music and boasting that they have spoken to “some amazing people” for the festive show “who will share their memories that have shaped this past year.”

Harry adds: “So many people have been through so much pain this year, experiencing loss, a huge amount of uncertainty, but it feels worth acknowledging that 2020 has connected us in ways we could never imagine through endless acts of compassion and kindness.”

Telling listeners to follow Archewell Audio, Markle said: “listen for free, only on Spotify and we’ll meet you back here soon.”
