Prince William, Kate Middleton thank key workers with Christmas surprise

‘Tis the season for giving.

Prince William and Kate Middleton thanked essential workers for their hard work this year amid the coronavirus pandemic with a Christmas surprise.

“This year has been extraordinary for many reasons, but through the hardship some of the most incredible people have emerged,” the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote in a post to Instagram on Tuesday. “This Christmas we want to say THANK YOU to our key workers and their families for all they have done and for the sacrifices they have made to keep us safe.”

The royal couple shared a video where they told their own pandemic version of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and acknowledged the hard work of healthcare workers fighting the virus by surprising their children with Christmas presents.

“As a small part in that effort we worked with @HamleysOfficial and @TNLUK to bring a bit of Christmas magic to the children of those key workers that came to the Palladium last Friday,” they said.

The video showed elves racing to the toy store to grab presents for the unsuspecting families. Santa then delivered the gifts to the children who were left smiling and crying of joy.
