“Real Housewives of New York” star Sonja Morgan says she has given out “at least” $10,000 in cash gifts and tips this holiday season — to everyone from restaurant owners to her psychic.
“I always tip the restaurants for the holidays … $50 for everybody, or $100. I tip the kitchen, the dishwasher, the bar-backs, the managers,” she told us. And she said that this year she’s also handing out cash to restaurant owners “because of the restaurant situation” caused by COVID.
“After this peak [in virus cases] right now, who knows how many will be open? I’m feeling their pain. It’s horrible,” she said, “Some of the people, I had to mail checks to their parents’ houses, because they’re furloughed; they’re not even open. I drop by the restaurants but they’re closed. So I call and text them asking, ‘Where are you?’ So I’m mailing checks out as we speak.”
She’s also been sending money to her family and, “my interns, they get a check in the mail. Even my past interns … as well as my psychic, Roberta Tavassoli,” she said.
The Bravo star added, “I used to buy people stocks, but they sold them — so now I give cash.”
Season 13 of the show has been filming, and is set to air in 2021.
