Tom Sandoval is ready to return to music.
The “Vanderpump Rules” star joined Food Network stars the Potash Twins for a Christmas song — complete with his trumpet. The trio also collaborated on two recipes for the holidays.
“It was so great getting to jam out with Potash twins,” Sandoval told Page Six. “I’ve been wanting to for ages. Mixing cocktails and instruments might be two of my favorite things in life.”
Sandoval, 37, and his girlfriend, Ariana Madix, recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of their cocktail book, “Fancy AF Cocktails.”
Earlier this month, he told us that he missed attending live music events, but he was making the most of his time at home.
“I’ve been playing a lot more trumpet lately,” he revealed. “I have a pocket trumpet now that I’ve kind of fallen in love with.”
“Vanderpump Rules” fans will recall Sandoval’s trumpet playing skills from when he recorded music with James Kennedy and his attempt to forge a career in the pop industry with his two-man band, Charles McManson.
It is unclear if Bravo cameras will capture any of his newfound skills, as the status of “Vanderpump Rules” is unknown. The show usually films over the summer, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were unable to adhere to their normal schedule.
There has been no update on when production will resume.
He also told us ahead of Christmas that he was planning to celebrate from the comfort of his own home with Madix, 35.
“This is going to be the first time I haven’t gone back to St. Louis for the holidays, but my family’s very understanding,” he said. “My mom would normally — back when I was working at TGI Fridays when I was like 17, 18, my mom would be like, ‘I don’t care what it costs! You tell anyone I’ll give them a hundred bucks!’ Which now, like with inflation of like $300, maybe. I had to have at least Christmas Eve off. So I used to work Christmas Day, but but yeah, just this year, I mean, you know, I just feel like I would feel guilty.”
Madix added that they’re still going to be festive, though, saying, “No one’s going anywhere and no one’s coming here. So we’re just going to be cuddling with the dogs. We got them and we got the dogs and our cat matching Christmas sweaters!”
“To be very honest, the ultimate gift [this year] would be the end of COVID-19,” she said.
“Fiery Cashews – That Slay”
- 1 cup cashew nuts
- ½ tablespoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Heat up a pan to medium heat. Spread the cashews evenly in the pan. Stir for 3 to 4 minutes until they become fragrant. Add the olive oil and continue to stir until the cashews are fully coated. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, paprika, salt and pepper and stir. Combine the spice mixture with the cashews, toss together and serve.
