Gucci gives Ridley Scott access to archives for ‘House of Gucci’

Ridley Scott’s high-fashion crime drama “House of Gucci” will feature real vintage treasures from the Italian luxury label.

While the Gucci family at the heart of the story is no longer involved in the brand today, Gucci president and chief executive officer Marco Bizzarri told WWD that the fashion house is allowing “total creative freedom” to the production.

“Gucci is collaborating with MGM and Scott Free Productions by providing access to the house’s historical archive for wardrobe and props,” he revealed.

“House of Gucci,” which is currently filming in Italy, stars Adam Driver as doomed fashion mogul Maurizio Gucci and Lady Gaga as his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted of plotting his murder in 1995.

Dubbed the “Black Widow” by the press, Reggiani was sentenced to 29 years in prison during her scandalous 1998 trial; she was released in October 2016 after serving just 18 years.

Based on Sara Gay Forden’s book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed” and set for a November release, the Scott-directed flick also stars Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto and Al Pacino.

Gaga, 34, gave fans a first glimpse at the film’s costumes last week, posing alongside 37-year-old Driver in a black puff-sleeved turtleneck and trousers accessorized with tons of gold jewelry and pearls, possibly from Gucci’s archives.

Driver, meanwhile, wore a white snowsuit tied at the waist, a cream cable-knit sweater and glasses identical to the late Maurizio Gucci’s signature specs.

The pair were later snapped on set in coordinating trench coats, Gaga’s paired with a printed scarf and Driver’s with a Fair Isle sweater.
