Meghan Markle and Prince Harry admit secret wedding never actually happened

Another misstep for Meghan.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have confessed that the secret wedding the Duchess of Sussex described in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey did not happen, the Daily Beast reported on Monday.

A spokesperson for the royals told the publication that “the couple exchanged personal vows a few days before their official/legal wedding on May 19.”

Since such a service does not constitute a formal wedding, the royal pair’s secret union was not legitimate, as Markle had told Oprah in the March 7 interview, the website said.

The 39-year-old former “Suits” star said in the footage, “You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that. The vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.”

The Sun obtained the couple’s marriage license from the General Registrar’s Office on Monday as well, which also confirmed that their legal wedding date is May 19.

Speculation that Markle, 39, bent the truth began almost immediately after the sitdown aired.

A UK vicar denied Markle’s claim earlier this month, explaining that the Church of England requires two witnesses for any marriage to be valid and that ceremonies must take place in a “certified place of worship” — neither of which Markle and Prince Harry, 36, abided by.

Markle also found herself in a pickle after internet sleuths found a blog post she wrote in 2014 about the “pomp” surrounding Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding.

In her interview with Winfrey, she denied knowing much about the royals before meeting her husband.
