‘Today’ contributor Bobbie Thomas says husband’s death still ‘doesn’t feel real’

Bobbie Thomas says the sudden death of her husband in December still “doesn’t feel real.”

The “Today” show contributor, 46, released her first update in months on Instagram late Wednesday and spoke through tears about what losing Michael Marion has been like for her and their young son, Miles.

“Back in December, I shared that we lost my husband, Michael. It’s really tough to say that out loud still,” an emotional Thomas said in a video. “Doesn’t feel real, but I’ve been so lucky to have a little pause where I can take a minute and be with Miles and family and friends. The world is dealing with so much right now.”

Thomas wrote in the caption alongside the video that she and Miles “are working to establish a new routine, which is hard, but we’re slowly starting to resume some of the activities that make us feel like us again.”

The style expert noted that she felt “pretty lucky” that she didn’t have to rush back to work before announcing that she would resume filming segments on HSN this week.

“I wish everyone was as lucky as I was,” a teary-eyed Thomas shared.

Thomas previously revealed that her husband’s death at the age of 42 was unrelated to a stroke he suffered in 2019 or to COVID-19.

“Michael worked hard to recover from his stroke and had made such progress that he was making plans to return to work,” Thomas told “Today” in a statement.

“He landed in the hospital due to problems involving several organ systems, separate from his stroke … and unrelated to COVID-19.”

Thomas told her followers in a touching post on Instagram, “Hold onto what you do have right now instead of focusing on what you don’t. One thing we all have is kindness. Absorb it, extend it, exhaust it. Because in the end, the ONLY thing that matters is love.”
