Halle Berry may not have been nominated for any awards at the 2021 Oscars, but she sure was the talk of the red carpet.
The “John Wick” actress, 54, arrived at the ceremony on Sunday night clad in a berry-colored Dolce & Gabbana strapless gown and with her boyfriend, musician Van Hunt, on her arm.
With paired-down Clinique makeup and virtually no jewelry, Berry let her new short haircut took center stage. Twitter ran wild with commentary and memes, with fans either enjoying or loathing the choppy bob.
Hairstylist Sara Seward was responsible for the cut, posting a photo of Berry’s shorn hair on the floor hours before Hollywood’s biggest night.
“Oh yes we did,” Seward captioned a post of the look on her Instagram Story.
In short, the ‘do was surely the night’s most-discussed celebrity hair moment — even surpassing Brad Pitt’s man bun.
Berry, who remains the first and only black woman to have won the Academy Award for Best Actress, presented the awards for both Best Cinematography and Best Production Design to David Fincher’s movie “Mank.”
