In another sign that NYC is making its comeback, crowds gathered in Times Square as Savannah Guthrie, Hota Kotb and Lester Holt were spotted filming scenes for NBC’s new special “Inspiring America” on Monday night.

The trio is honoring a group who made an impact during the pandemic, including “Hamilton” impresario Lin-Manuel Miranda, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, and Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon.

José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, and Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America, are also on the 2021 Inspiration List.

The primetime special will air on Saturday night on NBC, CNBC, MSNBC and Telemundo with the idea that it will turn into an annual franchise with a live event.

“As we all begin to heal after an enormously challenging year, it’s important that we find ways to connect with and inspire one another. That is the very foundation of inspiring America and why it has resonated as a popular signature series on ‘Nightly News,’” said NBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Conde.

He added: “We need uplifting stories now more than ever, and we are uniquely positioned to elevate them into a major franchise reaching millions more across our unparalleled portfolio.”

Anchors and journalists from across NBC News, Noticias Telemundo, MSNBC and CNBC, including José Díaz-Balart, Craig Melvin, Vicky Nguyen and Shepard Smith will join Holt, Guthrie and Kotb to interview honorees during the hour.

Guthrie is back on the proverbial horse following another eye surgery she underwent earlier this month after suffering a torn retina after her son, Charley, now 4, threw a toy train at her eye in November 2019.
