Plaza Hotel ‘haunted’ by witches during filming of mysterious HBO show

Salon-goers at the Plaza were in for a fright when they saw witches wandering the luxury hotel on Wednesday.

“I walk in and it was like entering the ‘Twilight Zone,'” said a spy who was on her way to the hotel’s high-end Warren Tricomi salon. “The Palm Court was filled with people and there were a few people in witches’ outfits, like Halloween.”

When asked for clarification, the source confirmed the get-ups did include pointy hats.

It turns out the otherworldly beings were part of a shoot for HBO Max. Our spy was told by a Plaza security guard that the show was called “The Bad Witch,” (rumored to be the code name for the upcoming “Gossip Girl,” reboot). The highly anticipated show is slated to air in July.

“There were no cameras at the moment I saw them, and I was truly confused until I saw what were clearly production people,” said our bewildered source.

After their hair appointment, the source got another surprise when they saw a fashion show being filmed on the second floor.

“It looked like a small indie designer with all the fashionable street style kids and outrageous outfits,” they tell us. “It looked real.”

The source added, “It was fun seeing the Plaza come alive.” The hotel reopens on May 20 after being closed since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Plaza has a long-running history of appearing on the small and big screen, and was a filming location for the original “Gossip Girl.”

“Sabrina,” “Funny Girl,” “The Way We Were,” “Midnight Cowboy,” “Bride Wars,” and, infamously, “Home Alone 2” — which included a scene with Donald Trump in the lobby — were all filmed there.
