Britney Spears channels her 2001 VMAs performance in snakeskin catsuit

You either die the pop star or live long enough to become the snake.

On Monday, Britney Spears paid homage to her infamous 2001 VMAs performance, in which she toted around a live albino Burmese python named Banana while singing “I’m a Slave 4 U” in a tiny green bra top and itty-bitty embellished shorts.

But the pop star, 39, opted to embody the slithering snake rather than revisit her bedazzled stage costume.

“I held a snake at the @VMAs one time but decided to go ahead 20 years later and become the motherf—king snake myself,” Spears captioned photos of herself clad in a neon green snakeskin catsuit.

“And since TRICKS ARE FOR KIDS you tricky little s—ts … who knows what color snake I will be tomorrow.”

“I’m a Snaaake for you,” one person commented. “#BANANAney,” another said.

Spears has recently been shedding her own skin, in a sense; last month, she dyed her blond hair pink with the help of her go-to hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos.

She’s also been switching up her style on social media, trading her signature puff-sleeved crop tops and bikinis for sexy, second-skin jumpsuits in bold metallics and wild animal prints.
