Kate Middleton wears meaningful necklace dedicated to her three children

Kate Middleton’s necklace is all in the family.

In a video launching the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood on Thursday, the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, sported a sentimental accessory dedicated to her three children.

She paired her puff-sleeve Ralph Lauren blouse with a personalized necklace from Daniella Draper ($1,400), inscribed with the initials of her and Prince William’s kids: Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3.

In addition to the initials, the 9-karat yellow gold necklace features three tiny diamonds, which the brand says are believed to “bring strength to its wearer, whilst symbolising light, commitment and purity.”

It’s far from the first time Middleton has nodded to her children with personalized bling. In addition to sporting the same medallion during a 2020 tour of the U.K., she wore a different initial necklace by Draper, the Gold Fixed Alphabet design ($715), during her tour of Scotland last month.

And she debuted yet another gold initial-engraved necklace last September, even pairing the delicate piece with the same white blouse she wore in her recent video.

Although Middleton is known for reprising memorable looks and sending messages with her accessories, her style has evolved throughout her time as a royal.

She branched out from go-to skirt suits and coat dresses again on Friday, stepping out in a tailored purple shift dress by LK Bennett ($370) for an event at the Centre for Early Childhood on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

Middleton said she hopes the newly-launched center will, “raise awareness of why the first five years of life are just so important for our future life outcomes, and what we can do as a society to embrace this golden opportunity to create a happier, more mentally healthy, more nurturing society.”

To meet parents at the center, she paired her body-hugging look with Gianvito Rossi suede pumps ($675) and hundreds of dollars’ worth of jewelry, including a lapis lazuli pendant from Astley Clarke ($220), a gold-plated Maya Torque bangle, and an 18-karat gold Spells of Love chain necklace ($123).

The pastel look comes a week after she color coordinated with First Lady Jill Biden, rocking a bold magenta dress for their first meeting.
