‘The Bachelorette’ star Katie Thurston gets engaged to Blake Moynes
Katie Thurston met her match.
“The Bachelorette” star got engaged to Blake Moynes on Monday night’s finale of the reality show. The wildlife manager, who also happened to be celebrating his 31st birthday on Monday, proposed to Thurston after she ended her romance with Justin Glaze and mourned the explosive end of her relationship with Greg Grippo.
Throughout the finale, it was up in the air whether Thurston, 30, and Moynes, would end up together, as he questioned her feelings following Grippo’s departure, but their final one-on-one date saw him say “I love you” to Thurston—the three words she never thought she’d say herself.
“I said to myself, ‘F–k, I love her.’ It’s scary to say because I promised myself that I wouldn’t say to anybody that I was sure, but I’ve been telling you all along I have been,” Moynes said. “I love you and I’m f–king really excited about life with you.”
Fortunately for Moynes, Thurston felt the same way.
“It is a big deal. It’s a huge word. As much as I want to be stubborn and just like you it’s scary and it’s but I f–king love you so much and I couldn’t be happier that you’re here,” she gushed. “I’m so glad.”
The finale continued to provide fans with stressful moments as the show neared its conclusion, making viewers wonder if the two would actually get engaged. In the end, Moynes gushed about their “fairytale” romance popped the question.
“You deserve the world, and I’m excited to support you and be there for you every day moving forward,” he said, before getting down on one knee and presenting her with a Neil Lane diamond ring. “So that being said, Katie Lane Thurston will you marry me?”
During the “After the Rose” special, the engaged couple shared their romance is still going strong.
“Everyday our love continues to grow stronger and stronger,” Thurston shared. “We are not even the same couple you just saw go down on one knee. We are so much more already, and we’re just really excited to start our lives together.”
