Bethenny Frankel snaps unfiltered underwear selfie: ‘This is me at 50’

Fifty never looked so good.

Bethenny Frankel posed for an Instagram photo wearing just a bra and underwear on Tuesday to celebrate her “real” body.

“If I were a ‘filterer’ I would have gotten rid of my lines and my dark circles, but this is me at 50. #zeroglam#zerofilter,” she captioned the selfie, in part.

The alum of “The Real Housewives of New York” went makeup-free for the photo, wearing a black sports bra with a pair of Skinnygirl briefs from her brand’s shapewear range.

Frankel, who turned 50 in November, expressed the importance of body positivity in an age when Instagram users often post edited images that create unrealistic beauty standards.

“Why do I mention this all the time? Because I think it’s important for young women to know that being flawed is truthful and real, and that filtering yourself into someone fictitious is actually damaging to girls’ and women’s self esteem,” she wrote. “It’s courageous and beautiful to be real at any age.”

Added Frankel, “I realize that fake and filtered sells, but I’m happy over here with my followers who appreciate the difference.”

Fans flocked to the comments section to applaud the star for her effort to destigmatize imperfections.

Earlier this week, the Skinnygirl founder posted another unfiltered, no-makeup selfie to make a similar point.
